Blue Cheese & Walnut Tart

A sophisticated tart combining creamy blue cheese, caramelized onions, and toasted walnuts in a buttery pastry case.

Ingredients
- 1 shortcrust pastry case (23cm)
- 200g blue cheese, crumbled
- 3 large onions, thinly sliced
- 100g walnuts, toasted and chopped
- 3 eggs
- 200ml heavy cream
- 2 tbsp fresh thyme leaves
- 2 tbsp butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
Instructions
- 1. Caramelize onions with butter and balsamic (30 mins)
- 2. Blind bake pastry case at 180°C (15 mins)
- 3. Toast and chop walnuts
- 4. Whisk eggs with cream and thyme
- 5. Layer onions, cheese, and walnuts in case
- 6. Pour over egg mixture
- 7. Bake at 170°C for 25-30 mins until set
